The goals of this competition? To introduce students to the many uses of precast/prestressed concrete and to showcase the availability of design assist by the precast industry. And to do the competition in the course of multiple days during the PCI Convention.
Students will not only need to use the knowledge they have gained in the classroom, but they will need to explore the show floor, call upon experts for help, and scope out many of the accessories used in precast concrete design.
One of the things that will make this competition unusual is that each team will have a precaster sponsor who will work directly with their team as a mentor and coach.
